Low Calorie Ranch Dressing

I tried a new recipe yesterday and surprisingly enough it wasn't too bad. I am a huge fan of ranch dressing and nothing in my book is ever going to replace it. But when I saw this recipes, I had to try it. It is made with Greek yogurt, a Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing pack, and milk... that's it. I found the recipe on Pinterest. You can find the recipe here.
My calorie count was a little higher than hers. I used a different brand of plain Greek yogurt... that is probably why. But I ended up with 1 1/2 cups of ranch dressing. All together it ended up containing 280 calories with 27g of protein.
1 1/2 cups = 24 tablespoons. 1 Tbs = 12 calories and 1.125 grams of protein.

I have been a busy girl the last few months. Partly because it is canning season! I love to can. I know that sounds stupid and it is a lot of extra work. But the payoff is worthwhile. Not only do I know where my food comes from, but I know what is in it. I am able to control the amount of sugar and the amount of salt. Sure, I can buy practically the same thing on the self at the grocery store. But in my mind, there isn't even a need for comparison.

My favorite things to can are peaches and jams. I have a friend who cans a lot of meat, mainly chicken and roast beef. I swear they are some of the most tender meat I have ever tried. Interesting, right? I might have to try it.

Anyhow, here are some of my favorite canning sites.
